Ken Reidy writes:

The March 23, 2022 Planning Board Minutes seem to contradict McLaughlin’s representation that this was informed by the PROS plan: NEW BUSINESS People Streets and Public Spaces Director McLaughlin explained that this presentation was a request made because of an RFQ that staff had published. The Mayor had mentioned he wanted a new vision for public space. This was spawned by questions that came out of the pandemic.

The pandemic is over and we do not want streateries in our streets in the down town core of Edmonds. You got 4TH Ave all of it. When is enough enough. We do not want times when our city is closed to the majority of the citizens. This is not going to get it. You keeps this up and there will be more trouble than you are already experiencing in the Bowl. I do not want that for you but this constant need to close off your tax payers is cruel, unfair and questionable to me. I am not standing in the rain or walking 8 block in the rain to get on a city bus to get to my main part of the city. ITS ridiculous. Its selfish and it is entitlement at the extreme. This is a mistake. I would correct it immediately. If I were you. So now we need an additional person to hire to do what you are suggesting. How much for that consultant. Consultants as a rule do not work for the good of the people but for the bosses and apparently government entities. BE happy you have all you have down there.
