This week's Edmonds Woodway athlete of the week is senior Girls Basketball player Melanie Walsh. Walsh had a season high 14 points vs Mountlake Terrace earlier in the year but it's her defense that makes her a standout. Coach Jon Rasmussen says, "Melanie works extremely hard on the defensive end and takes great pride in her defense. We also ask her to guard the other team's top scorer each game. This takes a lot of effort each night and she buys into her role. Melanie is an outstanding teammate and she will be missed after the season."
