Edmonds: Multifamily design standards to be studied

Code change could alter appearance of apartments, condos

The proposed 24-unit apartment building would knock down two existing structures on the north side of Main and Sixth.

Since the beginning of the new year, publicly available documents have shown that an Edmonds developer had preliminary plans for two three-story, 24-unit apartments in the heart of downtown, on two major arterials – at 605-611 Main St. and 627 Dayton St.

The public backlash has been ongoing. They include City Council comments, emails, and at an Architectural Design Board meeting Zoom meeting Jan. 5 with the buildings' architect, Phillip Frisk of PWF Architecture.
