Mary Medin 1946-2021

Mary (O'Meara) Medin of Hansville, Washington, died on Dec. 24, 2021, after a five-year battle with cancer.

She was born to A.M. "Bud" and Dorothy O'Meara on Nov. 25, 1946, in Port Townsend. She graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1965.

Mary moved to Edmonds in 1974. She retired from banking as a computer systems analyst with Seafirst National Bank. She and her husband of 43 years, Mike, retired to Hansville in 2011.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law Hall Baetz and William VanNess.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Michael W. Medin; daughter Andrea Kulp, (Shoreline); stepson Erik Medin (Mountlake Terrace); son-in-law Christopher "Kip" Kane; daughter-in-law Cheryl Medin; grandsons Luke Kane and Keir Medin; sisters Patricia VanNess, Dorothy Baetz, and Cathie Fountain; and brothers Tom O'Meara and A.L "Buddy" O'Meara.

She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, to whom she is often referred as "Favorite Aunt Mary."

Mary was an avid sports fan, and loved quiet time at the beach in Hansville and Adelma Beach in Port Townsend.
