Guitarist Jesse Cook is a familiar presence on the Edmonds Center for the Arts stage. His show Jan. 20 is the Canadian native's fourth appearance. All have sold out.

"It's nice to hear," Cook said over the phone last week. "It's funny, too, it's not exactly something that is going to work on paper. There are no record executives who have ever lined up to find guys who play weird Spanish guitar music with otherworld music influences.

"But I've been doing this for 27 years now. So I always feel incredibly lucky that I actually do have a career."
