Edmonds, Mukilteo thrived with railroads

While viewing the early arrivals of white birdies near the tulip fields in Skagit County, I visited the sites of Florence and Skagit City. Florence and Skagit City were pioneer towns of importance, but mostly abandoned now.
I have written about each before, and won't rehash the stories. It is enough to say that each town has been superseded by neighboring towns – Florence by Stanwood, and Skagit City by Mount Vernon.
