To the rescue: Mayor announces $11.8M plan

Edmonds Mayor Mike Nelson

Mayor Mike Nelson wants to use federal funds to provide household, business, and nonprofit support.

The City's allocation from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), enacted by Congress and signed by President Joe Biden this spring, is $11.8 million.

"COVID has had a huge impact on many residents and businesses in our community that will not be fixed overnight," Nelson said in a news release. "It is crucial we help those most in need to assist in getting them up and running again. I am eager to put forward my ARPA proposals to City Council.
