Slow news day: Suds in the fountain | Editor's Note

Suds. Fountain. Edmonds.

But noooo. It's never ever a slow news day around here. In fact, it hasn't been a slow month – see elsewhere in this and the July 8 issue – or even a slow 2021.

(Shoot, let's just go back to the beginning of time.)

But news arrives from beyond City Hall and the police station. Sometimes it can bring a smile, a guffaw, a slap on the forehead.

Case in point: the recent soaping of the Edmonds fountain at Fifth Avenue and Main Street. It's almost a rite of passage for our area's youth, although perpetrators never seem to claim credit.
