Ronald Mianecki: 1943-2023

Ronald John Mianecki, our beloved dad, grandpa, and brother passed away peacefully at his home in Mukilteo on Sept. 30, 2023, at age 80.

Ron was born on May 29, 1943 in Racine, Wisconsin, and was one of 14 children. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Rose Mianecki, his wife of 57 years, Judy (née Simpson) Mianecki, and his siblings Christine, Edward Jr., Gary, Geraldine, James, Louis, and Phyllis.

Ron worked at Boeing for 34 years as a commercial airplane machinist before retiring in 2003.

Ron's favorite hobby was tinkering on his many collected Mopars and drag racing them in his earlier years. He enjoyed sailing his small sailboat, vacationing with family, watching grandkids in extracurricular activities, and celebrating their milestones. He also loved watching his favorite team, the Seahawks, golf tournaments, and rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy.

Ron was active in politics as a staunch conservative. He unsuccessfully ran for Mukilteo Water District Commissioner Position No. 3 in 2011 and was elected as Mukilteo Precinct Committee Officer in Precinct No. 4 for the Republican Party in 2010 and 2012. During election cycles he would canvass his neighborhood, distribute political literature, and march in parades for his favorite candidates. He was also a member of the John Birch Society.

Ron is survived by his two daughters, Denise Erickson (Paul) and Betty Jean Mianecki, six grandchildren - Daniel, Rachel, Sarah, Christina Erickson, Nicole Wilkinson (Evan), Katie McBride, and five siblings Richard, Bob, Girard, Judy, and Cyndi.

A wake will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 6-8 p.m. (with a Rosary at 7:15 p.m.) at Beck's Tribute Center, 405 5th Ave. S., Edmonds, Washington.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Chapel, 204 6th Ave. S., Edmonds, Washington. Immediately following the funeral mass, the burial will take place at the Marysville Cemetery, 8801 State Ave., Marysville, Washington. A reception will be hosted at Rosehill Community Center at 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo, Washington, from 4-7 p.m.
