A Bloodworks NW member draws blood from first-time donor Michelle Reitan, an EWC staff member who writes a column for The Beacon on health and wellness.
While the pandemic may be winding down, Bloodworks NW recently reported long-term effects remain.
That includes a major blood shortage in the area.
To help, the Edmonds Waterfront Center partnered with Bloodworks NW for a four-day blood drive held at the EWC June 3-4 and June 7-8.
"We appreciate your willingness to open your doors not only to Bloodworks NW but to the Edmonds community, "said Hannah McNutt, donor resource representative for Bloodworks NW.
"During the four-day drive, we registered 158 donors, collected 128 units of blood and welcomed 25 first-time donors to the Bloodworks...
