Edmonds Cemetery holds drive-thru Memorial Day

Edmonds Cemetery held a drive-thru ceremony for Memorial Day in 2021.

On March 31, 1968, Petty Officer Third Class Steven Ross Wolter was killed along with 15 Marines while defending a bridge in the Thua Thien province in Vietnam.

Wolter, from Hawaii, was a Navy hospital corpsman attached to the 1st Marine Division, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.

Wolter left behind a wife and 8-month-old baby.

On May 31 – the 50th anniversary of Memorial Day as a federal holiday – his wife was one of numerous people who paid their respects at Edmonds Memorial Cemetery and Columbarium's drive-thru ceremony.
