In the 1950s, The Seattle Times carried a column written by C. T. Conover about Seattle's early days. I don't know how often his “Just Cogitating” column ran. I suspect it may have been weekly, but it piqued my interest in history.
Conover had been in Seattle for 70 years, which meant he hadn't been one of the earliest settlers, but he arrived before the Great Seattle Fire and at a time when most of the founders were still alive.
