Jolie Elliott hopes to earn rank of Eagle Scout

Jolie Elliott, a member of Edmonds-based BSA Troop 319, is on track to become one of the first local female Eagle Scouts.

In February 2019, the Boy Scouts of America changed its name to Scouts BSA and said it would allow girls to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

That extension was important for Jolie.

"I am currently 19, which was why the extension was so vital," she said. "Scouts usually have until their 18th birthday to get Eagle rank. I was given an extra two years to have the opportunity to achieve it."
