July 4th parade and fireworks canceled in Edmonds

No community interest in a virtual parade, says chamber president

Meadowdale High School cheerleaders marched in the 2019 July 4th parade in Edmonds.

The July 4th parade and fireworks have been canceled for the second straight year in Edmonds, and we all know the culprit: the pandemic.

It's a big loss for downtown business, as a full day of activities for An Edmonds Kind of 4th usually draws over 18,000 people into the Edmonds core.

"It is not possible for the chamber to safely manage crowds under the published gathering restrictions by the state," said chamber President and CEO Greg Urban in a news release Wednesday.
