Police say train death appears to be deliberate

Mary Simmons is still trying to process what she saw late in the day Tuesday, March 23. A trip to the off-leash dog park turned horrific when she witnessed a pedestrian struck and killed by a northbound Sounder train.

Edmonds Police say the death appears to have been deliberate.

"I didn't see the aftermath, but some people I had been chatting with while with dogs did, as they were medical workers," Simmons said. "I only heard the train blow its horn frantically. I turned to look from the beach, saw a figure very briefly, heard a thud, and then train slowed to a stop. I saw the conductor get...
