'Hate has no home here'

Rally draws hundreds to Highway 99 in Edmonds

Hundreds of people from across south Snohomish County came out to protest the recent wave of anti-Asian American violence Sunday, March 21, in Edmonds' International District.

The story of Sunday's Unite Against Hate rally in Edmonds was one of cooperation between cities, a quick social media campaign, and the will of citizens, public figures, and business owners to stand up to racial violence.

Hundreds lined up on both sides of Highway 99 from 220th to 228th streets southwest, part of which is designated the city's International District (220th to 230th) and is anchored by Boo Han Plaza, 99 Ranch Market, and a number of Asian restaurants and specialty shops.
