Conservation: Curbing the kilowatts | Greener Edmonds

Snohomish County PUD gets most of its electricity from Bonneville Power Administration dams on the Columbia River, a clean source that produces minimal amounts of greenhouse gases.

So why should we be concerned about conserving electricity in our homes? Because we have maxed out hydropower and what we do not use gets sent to other places that burn fossil fuels

The biggest electricity transmission line link in the country is between the Columbia River and California. Using less electricity here reduces carbon emissions there.
