Jim Lawless resigns; new assistant police chief in Marysville

Acting Police Chief Jim Lawless has resigned from the Edmonds Police Department, 11 months after Mayor Mike Nelson said he couldn't "imagine a person better suited" to be the city's next police chief.

Lawless, who turned in his resignation letter March 9, will be assistant police chief in Marysville. His last day in Edmonds is March 22.
