E-W Athletic Booster Club looking for community support

The Edmonds-Woodway Athletic Booster Club is hoping Edmonds will be the little town that could.
The club is looking to the community to help save the day with its high school’s athletic programs. "It's a new way to give and hope to lead the way for schools in surrounding areas," said EWAP President Ron Colwill.
Like many schools, Edmonds-Woodway has seen cuts to its athletics budget due to additional expenses created by the pandemic. The Booster Club was unable to have its spring auction, and it's looking like that may happen again in 2021.
The auction is the Booster Club’s primary source of donations, and raises as much as $50,000 a year.
“The kids need equipment to be safe on the fields, and we need help getting that equipment," Colwill said. "That’s why the booster club came up with this new fundraising idea. Instead of asking for large amounts of money from a few donors, we are asking the entire community to give a little. Specifically, a $5 monthly donation that can continue for any length of time."
