Ferry numbers at lowest level in nearly 50 years
Edmonds-Kingston riders drop 29%, vehicles 22%

With the sharp drop in commuter traffic due to the coronavirus pandemic, the following should come as no surprise: The latest numbers from Washington State Ferries show that the Edmonds-Kingston and Mukilteo-Clinton runs both carried more riders than Seattle-Bainbridge Island in 2020.
The Seattle-Bainbridge route had the second-largest decrease at 59% – behind Seattle-Bremerton – falling out of the top spot as the system's busiest for the first time since 1958.
Still, the Edmonds-Kingston route saw total ridership fall 29%, while vehicles declined 22%.
