With profound sadness we announce the passing of Carol Ann Burk, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Edmonds on Dec. 8, 2020, in her 83rd year

Carol Burk was born on Jan. 10, 1937 in Seattle, a daughter of Stanton and Gladys Sechler.

Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Burk, and is survived by her sister, Lois Harris, and children: Catherine Burk, Greg Burk, Philip Scott Burk, Sheryl Burk, Michelle Burk-Gomez, Allison Burk, and Tiffany Gray.

All whom loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, quick wit, charm, grace, and above all else, her undying love and giving heart.

She graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in nursing and worked at the UW Hospital.

Carol and her husband Philip touched the lives of many families and children. They were involved in foster parenting, and eventually adopted four children.

Carol was an active member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She participated in the women's ministry and led multiple Bible study groups.

She was vibrant, active, and enjoyed so much, including: cooking, baking, gardening, and hosting large gatherings of family and friends. She also loved to decorate and was never hesitant to give you her opinion on style and décor.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life service is postponed and tentatively planned this spring.

Contributions and donations can be made to the following ministries: World Vision International, Compassion International, and Seattle Union Gospel Mission.
