Acclaimed artist James Martin remembered in 2010 story

Editor's note: James Martin died Dec. 15 at 92 in Edmonds. His work was featured in a yearly exhibition since 2004 at Foster/White in Seattle, usually in January. However, he has shown his works with gallery since the 1980s, beginning at Foster/White's location in Kirkland.

Foster/White will have another show next month.

Martin was an artist of stature. Gallery owner Otto Seligman presented his work alongside such Northwest School artist such as Morris Graves of Woodway, Guy Anderson of Edmonds, and Mark Tobey. Their art is prominent at Cascadia Art Museum in Edmonds.
