Edmonds School District marks 1 millionth free meal

Since March 16, the Edmonds School District's Food and Nutrition Services department has served more than 1 million free meals to kids up to age 18 in the community.
Superintendent Gustavo Balderas served that 1 millionth meal to a family at College Place Elementary School in Lynnwood Oct. 15.
"School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and local milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories, and sodium," said Megan de Vries, Food and Nutrition Services director.
