Final warning, says city, on required face coverings on Edmonds Fishing Pier

Closure could come Monday night

The City of Edmonds says it may shut the fishing pier at night if it doesn’t see more people wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines.

It’s serious: Police patrols have been increased and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has been contacted for support.

Concerned residents and those fishing for squid have continued to contact Edmonds Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department about the lack of COVID safety measures on the pier.

Specifically, the lack of distancing and mask wearing during the nighttime squidding activities.
