A 20-year-old Edmonds man was charged today, Sept. 9, in U.S. District Court in Seattle with two counts of arson and two counts of unlawful possession of a destructive device for his activities at a protest that turned violent in downtown Seattle.
U.S. Attorney Brian T. Moran made the announcement, saying Kelly Thomas Jackson was arrested Wednesday morning and appeared in U.S. District Court this afternoon, where he was advised of the charge and the penalties.
Jackson remains detained pending a detention hearing scheduled for Monday, Sept. 14.
