Members of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Edmonds have collected hundreds of pounds of food and nearly $3,000 contributed at their past three Drive-By Food Drops.

St. Alban's Episcopal Church will hold a "Drive-By Food Drop" 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, to provide an opportunity to contribute food to local area food banks.

Based on the success of previous drives, this food donation will provide residents of south Snohomish and north King counties with another opportunity to show their generosity and support for those in need in this COVID-19 time when many are struggling to feed their families.

This will be the church's fourth food drop, following drives held on May 2, June 27, and Aug. 8 ,which took in hundreds of pounds of food and nearly $3,000 in cash donations for local food banks.

The community is encouraged to bring nonperishable foods – soups, tuna, peanut butter, dry pasta, and similar items. Diapers and infant formula are always appreciated. Cash and checks made payable to St. Alban's Church – Food Bank will also be accepted.

Parishioners and other helpers will be on hand at the church, at 21405 82nd Place West near Five Corners, to accept donations.

According to food bank officials, the demand for food continues as the COVID crisis deepens while local food banks – and their customers – are feeling the strain. Now more than ever they need help from the community to support their mission to serve our neighbors in need.
