Wesco schools delay start of prep sports

High school football will be played in the spring

The start of the prep sports season has been pushed back to 2021.

Wesco athletic directors voted last week to shift the two sports scheduled for the fall – cross country and boys tennis – to the third of four newly created seasons by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), the governing body for high school sports in Washington.

The decision by the Mukilteo, Edmonds, Everett, Shoreline and Stanwood Camano school districts to begin the school year with online/distance learning and no on-campus instruction raised a number of issues, according to Everett School Distr...
