Finance director: City budget continues to be in good shape

Sales taxes 'only 5.7%' behind 2019 figures

Although the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on municipal budgets nationwide, Acting Finance Director Dave Turley continues to report that Edmonds is in relatively good shape.

As he did in May, Turley presented an optimistic picture to councilmembers Tuesday, Aug. 4.

He noted that many area governments are experiencing revenue declines of 15% or more. Fortunately, repeating what he said in May, Edmonds is faring better than most of its neighbors.
