Mayor threatens to close beaches, dog park, other facilities

Citing feedback from the public concerning the lack of mask-wearing and social distancing, Mayor Mike Nelson on Tuesday warned that he would consider closing beaches and other public facilities in Edmonds.
Gatherings of more than five people are not allowed during Phase 2 of the state's reopening rules.
Also on Tuesday, Snohomish Health District officer Chris Spitters said there are dozens of new COVID-19 cases in the last two week as a result of large gatherings.
