Graphite art facility to begin construction this month

Graphite's life-sized Holstein cattle cow sculpture, Greta, will be auctioned, with all funds directly benefiting art education in the community. It was located in the empty lot at Second Avenue South and Main Street before last week's groundbreaking.

Graphite, a future art facility in Edmonds, is set to begin construction soon. Located in the Edmonds arts district at 202 Main St., the new art center – which had a groundbreaking ceremony last week – promotes itself as a hub for people of all ages to experience art at any level.

Building features will include: workshop areas for instruction and community events; gallery to display art; darkroom for photography; ceramics studio; artist studio spaces; communal public art areas; library; and restaurant
