'I Can't Breathe' art installation on Sixth Avenue North

Police Chief: 'Now, more than ever, is a time to listen and to have open conversations'

A temporary art installation is on the fence on Sixth Avenue North, across the street from the police station.

The latest "On the Fence" temporary art installation, sponsored by the Edmonds Arts Commission, is "Untitled," by Christabel Jamison, an 18-year-old student at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

The installation reads "I Can't Breathe," words spoken by Eric Garner in 2014 and, more recently, George Floyd. Both were killed by police.

It's located on the fence of Sixth Avenue North across from the Edmonds Police Department.
