Ferry passengers help save woman's life

A Washington State Ferries captain credits quick-thinking passengers on the Spokane for saving the life of a distraught woman who threw herself overboard.
On June 7, the Spokane was on its way to Kingston from Edmonds under mostly sunny conditions, with winds from four to six knots.
A seemingly normal trip became hectic when passengers on the No. 2 pickle fork – the passenger deck area that extends above the end of the car decks like two prongs – noticed the woman in the chilly Puget Sound. They started shouting and pointing.
