A clarification on Main Street Nails story

After the Beacon ran a story June 18 on a confrontation between a Black couple and the Asian American owners of a nail salon in Edmonds, we were contacted by a family member who wanted to make a clarification.
Quick recap: The Black couple, Dino and Frido Nzanga, had scheduled an appointment at Main Street Nails on June 9, but were turned away by an employee, who claimed she did not have an appointment on her schedule.
The owners of the salon, Trin Le and Tin Nguyen, later publicly apologized to the couple, saying a language barrier led to the misunderstanding.
