Edmonds School District board members will attend an Equity & Student Success team 60-minute community Zoom meeting 4 p.m. Thursday, June 11.
No action will be taken.
They are scheduled to hear a discussion about the professional learning opportunities currently planned and thoughts from the community about the next steps and current needs in regard to "a socially conscious curriculum combined with a wide variety of learning opportunities focused on disrupting a system that has historically disparaged generations of people."
According to the district, discussed at the board meeting Tuesday, June 9, was the possibility of doing away with armed school resource officers at district high schools, including Edmonds-Woodway.
Further discussion on school resource officers is planned Tuesday, June 16, at the next school board meeting.
