Matthew Lacambra finishes his marathon, with teammate Nathan Smith pacing him for the last six miles.

Matthew Lacambra, a dedicated cross-country and track-and-field runner at Edmonds-Woodway High School, along with his teammates, were disappointed about the cancellation of their track-and-field seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

So what did Lacambra do?

The junior decided to run 26.2 miles, his first marathon, on the Burke-Gilman trail March 23, finishing in three hours and five minutes.
