New art installation a treat for bird watchers

Edmonds artist Mona Fairbanks' "Birds of a Feather" art installation can be seen on Main Street.

Edmonds artist Mona Fairbanks' "Birds of a Feather" art installation on the southwest corner of Sixth Avenue South and Main Street just may be the most impressive yet.

She created and placed native birds with conversation bubbles on Michael McMurray's fence surrounding the future Edmonds Commons space.

"I was contacted by Michael to create an installation that would inspire Edmonds and remind all of us that we are together in these crazy times," Fairbanks said.

"Since I am a native bird lover, I decided to go with a bird theme. I created 22 native birds with 11 conversation bubbles with fun...
