Osprey make a home in Westgate

Rachel Lyman's daughter, Audrey, is an aspiring birdwatcher – and is already a telescope operator

The osprey, defined: "The osprey or more specifically the western osprey – also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk – is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range."

Rachel Lyman, who lives on 96th Avenue West in Westgate, offers proof.

She and her daughter, Audrey, have been watching osprey in action on a cell tower near their home for a while now. They take pictures through a telescope with an iPhone.

"I do not know exactly how long they have been there," Rachel said. "We first started noticing them about two weeks ago. We heard their calls and noticed them...
