The YMCA of Greater Seattle, which has a location in Shoreline, has laid off 122 workers in what is expected to be a temporary move, according to the state Employment Security department.
All of the YMCA of Greater Seattle's 13 locations are closed.
Staff from the local rapid response team and WorkSource center will perform outreach to employees of the organization to ease the transition.
The Shoreline location, the Dale Turner Family YMCA on Aurora Avenue North, provides staff and programming to Yost Pool in Edmonds, which earlier reported that the pool would not open this summer due to the coronavirus.
On its website, the YMCA said that, "We continue to provide housing, shelter, and counseling service with social distancing practices, as well as support for families of first responders and health-care providers."
