Gypsy moth spraying to begin in Woodway Friday

On Friday, May 15, the Washington State Department of Agriculture plans to begin aerial spraying in the Town of Woodway in an effort to eradicate the Hokkaido gypsy moth, a variety of the Asian gypsy moth, weather permitting.

Weather permitting, the department will aerially treat about 1,300 acres with a naturally occurring soil bacteria, Btk (Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki.)

It was in July 2019 that seasonal trappers from the Washington State Department of Agriculture
