Support for mayor, governor, and the continued closure | Letter to the Editor

I would like to register my full support of our mayor and governor and the continued closure of our Edmonds and our state.

Anyone who has had this virus knows how devastating it is, not just for the victims but for the families and those who care for them. Mayor Mike Nelson and Gov. Jay Inslee are giving responsible guidance that has resulted in the decrease in cases, but that decrease is nowhere near zero.

Only the continuation of social distancing and lockdown will give us a chance at a healthy recover.

The coronavirus will be with us for a long time. And until there is a vaccine, which...

Thank you, Mayor Nelson. I agree that only by continuing physical distancing will we achieve a healthy recovery. If people continue to violate physical distancing, multiple resurgences are possible. The Governor is monitoring many sources of data and no one has a crystal ball that will tell us when we will reach a level of safety sufficient to reduce safety measures. Together we will be able to make it through the challenges of this virus and make the new normal even better than before.
