Donna Rose Bader: 1935-2020

Last updated 4/16/2020 at 4:32pm

Donna was born in Flasher, North Dakota, on March 29, 1935, and died March 5, 2020. She was the daughter of Nicholis and Emelia Gustin, who moved to Tacoma after WW II; Donna graduated from St. Leo High School and became an X-ray technician after training at St. Joseph Hospital.

She met and married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Rick, and remained married for 63 years.

Together, they have four remarkable children: Carrie (Tim), Steve (Jen), Diana (Ron), and Nicole (Robert); five grandchildren, Albert (Michelle), Sarah, Kate, Luke, and Lucy; and one great-grandson, Brandon.

Donna lived in Edmonds for over 50 years and was active in various art and cultural programs – Driftwood Theatre, Cascade Symphony, and the Edmonds Arts Festival. She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and a longtime active player at Harbor Square Tennis Club.

Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a good friend who was loved by so many. We will miss her.

Memorials may be made to the Edmonds Senior Center-Edmonds Waterfront Center.

There will be a celebration of life sometime in the near future (we hope).
