Holy Rosary seventh grade student Audrey Gibson works on her studies. Gibson's mother is Julie Gibson, Holy Rosary's PreK-8 Spanish teacher who is using video technology allowing students to send videos of themselves speaking Spanish.


Keeping school on track during a global pandemic has required teachers of all class levels to take an unexpected crash course in online curriculum tools in order to continue their daily lesson plans.

At Holy Rosary School in Edmonds (grades pre-K-through-8), middle school science and math teacher Michael Montanari is relying on an array of technology tools to allow him to continue teaching his students remotely after school was canceled due to the pandemic.

He offers this glimpse into what a day of "distance learning" entails.
