On March 13, Verdant Health Commission announced that it has extended its closure to March 31.

The following is a news release from the Verdant Health Commission:

The Verdant Health Commission continues to monitor the changing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) conditions, closely following the updates and guidance from public health experts with the Snohomish Health District. It is important to note that there have been no known cases of COVID-19 connected to the Verdant Community Wellness Center.

But with the safety of program participants, community, and staff in mind, Verdant is following the recommendation of public health and as a result, has canceled all classes, programs, and services scheduled to take place at the Verdant Community Wellness Center and will be closed from now through Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Verdant will continue to monitor updates and will make decisions about future programming and services at a later date.

Protecting community by supporting social distancing

Public health officials are recommending avoiding non-essential gatherings of many people. Verdant recognizes the importance of taking action during this critical time when prevention strategies can make a large impact in slowing the spread of COVID-19.

With the cancellation of programs and services and closure of the Verdant Community Wellness Center through March 14, Verdant is working to protect those who are at higher risk from COVID-19, which includes:those who are older than 60 years of age who have an underlying medical condition, like heart disease, lung disease, or diabetes; people with weakened immune systems; or individuals who are pregnant.

Community classes and meetings organized by Verdant and/or hosted at the Verdant Community Wellness Center will be postponed or canceled through March 14.

This also includes walk-in services like North Sound 2-1-1 community resource navigation, health insurance enrollment, prescription drug assistance, veterans resource navigation, and one-on-one appointments. These services may be available through other means. Visit verdanthealth.org for details.

Verdant recognizes this decision may affect an individual’s ability to access resources and services, and we thank you for your understanding as we navigate the changing situation.
