Events set for Edmonds International Women's Day Sunday, March 8

February 27, 2020

Alicia Crank

On Sunday, March 8, Edmonds resident Alicia Crank, along with several volunteers and community partners, are hosting a series of events for the 2nd Annual Edmonds International Women's Day. Partner and sponsorship opportunities are available.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity, Crank said.

"This event came about last year initially as an effort to do something fun and special for underserved women and girls in our community," Crank said. "Since the movie 'Captain Marvel' was opening in International Women's Day, I decided to work with the Edmonds School District and YWCA to create a free screening of the movie for these women and girls."
