Meadowdale High School to those on the front lines: We value your service past, present, and into the future.
On Veterans Day, inspired after reading Tim O'Brien's classic novel about the Vietnam War, "The Things They Carried," two Meadowdale classes of about 70 students decided to write their own letters to current military members, veterans, and new recruits.
The class project was part of the Edmonds School District's senior English curriculum based on O'Brien's book, which centers on a young man drafted to fight in the Vietnam War.
