I saw a high-school classmate posted a photo from Grays Harbor County on Facebook. It turned out to be the Moclips Hotel collapsing into the ocean.
Before I read the caption I had thought it might be the Pacific Beach Hotel, which met a similar fate. I never saw the Pacific Beach Hotel. I first heard about it when I was about 10 years old. On a visit, my dad mentioned working as a carpenter on the hotel.
By the time we visited in the late 1950s, there was no visible trace left. The Pacific Ocean had claimed it all. I have not yet seen a photo of the hotel so I have no idea what it looked l...
