December fills my heart with memories of long-ago Christmases during my childhood in Edmonds.
Helping carry boxes of decorations down from the attic. Cutting and pasting red paper chains for the big tree in the corner of the living room. Watching my dad put strands of tinsel on the tree. Curling up in a chair nearby to read with my cat Butch sleeping on my lap, under my book. Wrapping presents on the mahogany dining room table.
Taking Saturday bus trips to Seattle with my mom to marvel at the brilliant holiday décor of Frederick and Nelson and The Bon Marche – and then eating at Greenâ€...
