Man walks to police station to report he's stabbed his father
Incident occurred in Seaview neighborhood

Early in the morning of Thursday, Nov. 21, a 24-year-old Edmonds man walked to the Edmonds Police Department and used the callbox out front to say he had killed his father.
Officers received the call at 2:41 a.m. According to Sgt. Shane Hawley, the man wanted to report that he's committed a "pre-meditated homicide." When officers contacted him, the man said that he had just stabbed his father and walked to the police station to report it.
The man gave his address as a private residence in the 18700 block of 84th Avenue West, two blocks north of Seaview Elementary School.
There, officer discovered a 64-year-old man with multiple stab wounds inside. He was deceased when officers arrived and the residence was secured.
The 24-year-old man was taken into custody and detectives were called out to investigate further. With the assistance of the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab, the crime scene was processed and evidence collected.
Detectives are investigating this as a domestic violence incident and have confirmed the 64-year-old victim is the father of the suspect. Based on previous contacts with the suspect, his family had reported that the he had a history of mental illness.
The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for the crime of first-degree murder.
This is still an active investigation and there are no further details available at this time.
