Hope (noun). Grounds for believing that something good may happen. A feeling of desire for a certain thing to happen.
Last week, my husband and I were having one of those wide-ranging discussions you have with new friends, the kind that highlight where your opinions align and where they do not. We spent most of our time on the impacts of climate change.
The oceans have taken the brunt of what we humans are doing on land, and the effects are really showing now, which is very sad. Sadder still is that since we cannot agree on how to react, we are slow and indecisive to do so.
