Posted

Monika Kayte Gedack-Ellis, age 55, was born in Denver, Colorado, May 20, 1966, to Sharon Gedack and Franz Gedack. Lover of Yahweh, midwife, childbirth educator, artist, video editor, home school teacher, violist, chef, Schutzhund dog trainer, home medic, interior designer, adventurer, sailor, writer, and singer. Loved music, her Cobra Mustang, motorcycling, traveling, fishing, campfires, her dogs, the valley of South Park, and her children “chillens.” Monika graduated from South Park High School in 1984, studied graphic design (The Art Institute of Colorado), and went on to obtain her associates degree (Culinary Arts/Aesthetic Presentation) – Gourmet Food at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Seattle.

Monika peacefully passed away Oct. 21, 2021, at 2:45 a.m. in Minnesota, after bravely struggling with her health. Even in the end, Monika was a fighter, lover, friend, and admirable mother, who always adored and looked out for her chillens.

Monika is survived by her husband, Michael Ellis (Minnesota); her chillens, who made up the entirety of her world: Ryan (Indiana), Natasha (Washington), Mikayla (Washington), Houston (Indiana), Grace-Marie (Washington), Jesse (Vermont), and Dustin (Washington); other loved ones include her children’s father, Bruce Davis (Washington); her mother, Sharon Gedack (Colorado); her stepmother, Mary Gedack (Colorado); her older brother, Franz Gedack (Colorado); and her younger brother, Troy Gedack (Colorado). Preceded in death by her father Franz Gedack.

She lived her life to the fullest and was always the ultimate hostess as she made sure everyone around her was loved and happy. Monika always put others before herself and never failed to connect with everyone who was blessed to be a part of her beautiful world.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Colorado Midwives Association can be made in Monika’s name. Monika's non-virtual celebration of life will be serviced at a later time and location. Please check this website for future updates: www.memoirsofmonika.com
